KARACHI: Provincial minister for Industries and Trade Manzoor Wassan undertook a surprise visit to the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) Limited office on Tuesday to check the attendance and performance of the department.
Sources informed that Wassan visited the office of SITE and visited various sections of the department. On noticing the absence of the of SITE Managing Director Ghulam Mujtaba, the minister issued him a show cause notice.
He also expressed his anger and displeasure at the presence of broken chairs and lack of hygiene in the office. During his visit, he also found that the secretary the deputy chief engineer were also not present. He issued show cause notices to both persons for being absent from duty.
A bio-metric clerk was also issued a show cause notice for not being able to supply him data regarding the employees of SITE. Out of the 914 employees of the company, 308 were absent from duty.
The minister received the data of the employees who had not reported for duty and issued directives for their salaries to be stopped. He said that no compromise would be made any more on the performance. Therefore the employees and officers should rectify their behavior, he added.
