ISLAMABAD – National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday suspended the session till the house in order.
National Assembly Member Lal Chand pointed out the quorum during the session. Following this, the speaker suspended the session till the house in order. Earlier, the National Assembly was informed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would attend proceedings of the lower house of the parliament on Friday.
In reply to a point of order raised by Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rasheed informed the House that the prime minister would attend assembly proceedings on Friday and reply to questions raised by the opposition.
On Monday, the opposition parties announced a boycott of proceedings of both the Senate and the National Assembly until the prime minister came to the Parliament and explained his position over his family’s offshore holdings. The opposition leader once again called upon the prime minister to disclose the details of his assets.
