ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was advised on Wednesday to limit his activities and his staff members were taken under oath to stop them from revealing secrets.
The Pakistan Television’s (PTV) – a state TV channel – staff allocated to the prime minister were also restricted to not leak any news related to him, according to the inside story. The prime minister has also cut down mobile phones’ usage. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan advised PM Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to limit their electronic activities.
An employee of PTV – on condition of anonymity – said that PTV’s employees associated with the prime minister took an oath on the Holy Quran that emphasised on ‘not leaking’ anything from the PM house – not even to friends or family members.
Policies have been tabulated against a possible ‘Raiwind march’ of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Punjab Police inspector general has been directed to invalidate PAT and PTI while the back door communications task has been assigned to a federal minister.
According to sources, an intelligence bureau has been assigned a special task of updating the prime minister with real-time reports of PAT’s Tahirul Qadri’s meetings.
